Symantec_System_Recovery


1. install SSR for Linux


- fuse install

[root@YYBOX /]# wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/fuse/files/fuse-2.X/2.9.4/fuse-2.9.4.tar.gz

[root@YYBOX /]# ./configure

[root@YYBOX /]# make

[root@YYBOX /]# make install

[root@YYBOX /]# ldconfig


- Install Package 'squashfs, genisoimage'


- SSR install

[root@YYBOX /]# ./Symantec_System_Recovery.bin


- add license

[root@YYBOX /]# symsr -addlicense <license key>



2. Backup


- Disk info

[root@YYBOX /]# symsr -info disk

- Backup

[root@YYBOX /]# symsr -b volume_name options -d destinationrecoverypoint_name

ex)symsr -b /dev/sda1 -d system_000.v2i


3. Creating a Symantec Recovery Disk


[root@YYBOX /]# createSRD --iso=/mnt/backup/rhel-5.2-server-i386-dvd.iso -d

/mnt/backup/customSRD.iso



4. Restore 


Boot from 'customSRD.iso'

CIFS mount Restore file directory 'network PC 192.168.0.123/yybox01'

Restore File Name 'backup01.v2i,backup02.v2i,backup03.v2i'


[root@YYBOX /]# mount -t cifs -o username=yybox,passwd=yybox //192.168.0.123/yybox01 /mnt/yybox01/

[root@YYBOX /]# symsr -info disk

MBR disk /dev/sda:

0 empty segment (100 GB)


[root@YYBOX /]# symsr -r backup01.v2i -d /dev/sda -initialize-disk MBR

# sda initializing MBR format segmnet00

[root@YYBOX /]# symsr -r backup02.v2i -d /dev/sda -seg 1

# sda empty space restore segment01

[root@YYBOX /]# symsr -r backup03.v2i -d /dev/sda -seq 2

# sda empty space restore segment02
